What to have ready for the call
Nothing formal, and nothing you need to prepare in advance. The call works better with four answers, and if you do not have them, working them out is a useful part of the half hour.
- What software your books live in, or that there is no software yet. Both are normal starting points.
- Roughly how many transactions a month go through your accounts. An order of magnitude is enough.
- How current the records are. Up to date, a few months behind, or genuinely unknown.
- What deadline you are working to, if there is one. A filing date changes the sequence of everything else.
Who we can and cannot help
We would rather tell you on the first call than three weeks into an engagement.
We work with small and mid-sized businesses, tech companies, individuals, and CPA firms across the United States, United Kingdom and Canada, in the seven service areas listed on this site. What we are not is a licensed CPA firm: we prepare, and a licensed practitioner signs where a signature is required. We do not perform audits or attestation engagements, we do not give investment advice, and we do not currently file outside those three countries.
If your situation sits outside that, we will say so on the call rather than take the work.
How quickly things actually happen
The timings below are what we hold ourselves to. They are commitments, not aspirations, and if we are going to miss one you hear from us before the date.

What happens after I send this?
A person at Veris reads it and replies within one business day, usually sooner. If the inquiry is straightforward we answer it directly. If it needs a call, we offer times rather than sending you a scheduling link and hoping.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. Thirty minutes, no charge, no obligation, and no card details. Books cleanup diagnostics are free as well, and the written diagnostic is yours to keep whether or not you hire us.
Do I need to prepare anything for the call?
Nothing formal. It helps if you know roughly your monthly transaction volume, which software you are on, and what the deadline is. If you do not know any of those, the call is still useful; working them out is part of it.
